Help

First dumb question, took the box off my 66 S/B Stepside today, there is a round rod from the underside of the step on each side that attaches to the step then the frame. Both of these were broken at the point they attach to the frame. I looked iat the various part places. Just can not seem to find them or know what they are called. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance. B

Re: Help

They are easy to replicate, you simply hammer the ends of rod flat and drill a hole. Bend the angle in a vice.

I was looking thru LMC diagrams on stepside beds and didnt see anything. I would think it was a step support of somekind.

Re: Help

Shop Manual illustration simply calls it a brace.

I think they all break when removed, mine did. You'd think someone would have repopped them by now. All the after market guys sell the other braces inside the fenders. They are pretty easy to make though.
