PROJECT: The Heap.
After selling my 66 Gmc, in April, I felt the need to have another beater, I wanted another slammed short fleet. Sooo I did the most logical thing and bought a 70 GMC long fleet 3/4 ton.
Soon after getting it running, I swapped in the diff and front suspension from a dead 79. threw on a set of kijiji found torque thrusts. called it good. well nothing is ever good enough, soo as youll see About 2 weeks ao I tossed on a 68 chev front clip. Well that was fun, but HEY itll fit better in the garage as a short box, taking us to this week. Soo Ill post the pics I have and update as I progress. The Name ?? well that the name my girlfreind gave it when I pointed out my newly found $400 prize on the side of the highway. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1179720_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._2179553_n.jpg |

What, you have a garage???
|
Re: PROJECT: The Heap.
Yea man, I pony'd up up and became a homo-ner. its cool
I could actualy use your advise. I need to insulated and heat my garage before the snow falls. My plan is to insulate and vapor barrier, with r 14, i beleive thats all I can do with 2x4 studs.. and forgive me but Im house and wood illieterate. I was gonna cover the walls with osb instead of dry wall. same with the roof, and rent the machine from home depot and blow in insulation. would it be better to lay down bats???? |
Re: PROJECT: The Heap.
Matt,
Pretty much like you said. Use Roxul and you can get a extra couple R value, 6 mil poly, and what ever you want to cover it up. The machine is fine, make sure you have insulation stops at the eave ends, and blow away. I usually put batts for the first 4 feet one the eaves then blow in the rest of the area. Batts are just a little easier to get into the tight areas, usually from below. Have fun, Darren |
Re: PROJECT: The Heap.
Back from work, Ive just been working on getting the box sides all welded up and finished, then it on to rust repair, I need o do the flanges inside the box. the drivers side floor, passanger side rocker, and all the supposrts, both cab corners. I may end up just getting a better cab, and ill lose the markers that way too. pics later today
