passenger door won't unlock
 

hey guys the door on my passenger side won't unlock it will lock though.I pulled the asembly out and I can't seem to figure out why it won't unlock by it self.If I move the arm atached to the claw I can unlock it ,but if pull on the rod to unlock it ,it does nothing.:confused:

First impression would tell me the latch is borked. If none of the linkage is in a bind and can be moved freely, then it'd almost have to be the latch.

could the push button be sticking on the outside,seen it up here cold and rusty the button outside sticks in a bit.push lock down and push outside button to loosen,then try unlock

I have the entire latch out ans on the bench.when it was in the door you could move the lock a little bit but it felt like it was jammed .just to get the door open I had to use pliers on the key to force it open so I could get the door open to take the panel off.I almost ripped the lock cylinder out of the door.the button on the outside works fine so does the handle inside.It was working fine when I changed the lock cylinders and for some reason now it doesn't want to unlock.

I got it ,just needed alot of wd-40 where would I be without that stuff

lithium white grease would be better. The wd40 will not lube as long

I'll put some on it but it doesn't pentrate rust as well as wd-40,but I will put some on after I get it back in.Thanks for the replies guys

You beat me to it, my 85 had the same exact problem. The only difference is I used PB blaster.

pb blaster is even better,but I don't have any right now just ran out.You know what works better than both ,marvel mystery oil in a spray bottle

That oil is awesome, If you use that crap in your air tools they will last for ever. I used this crap once at a power plant called AreoKroil or something like that, It came in a orange can and was actually better than PB blaster.
