Brake problems

I have a cousin that has a 72 GMC truck. He's having problems with his brakes. We bled the brakes and got a good pedal, but when we cranked it, the pedal goes to the floor. What causes this?

Re: Brake problems

Get a new master cylinder. The mc piston seal goes bad or splits allowing fluid to go past it and that lets the pedal go down.

They're not that expensive and should solve your problem. If it's been replaced recently, take it back and get a replacement. Be aware that new ones can also fail so keep the receipts.

Rebleed you brakes if it still doesn't help see above post. Make sure you "bench bleed " the MC as it saves alot of agony.
