4 Bar vs Leafs. Benefits?

Hey guys,

Was wondering what the benefits of a 4 bar setup with coilovers are over the standard leaf spring and shock set up.

The ability to tune your system to your driving needs is the first thing I would say.

Also - 4 bar inherently controls axle windup.

With a leaf system you'd have to add something for that same level of control (ie, traction bars, cal tracs, etc).

But on most street 4 bar systems aren't the mounting points fixed? Other than being able to change pinion angle isn't it pretty much not tunable?

Also, I'd like to hear from anyone with a 4 bar in a truck with the urethane end bushings and a healthy engine, is there any problems with wheel hop if you spin 'em?

I have a parallel 4 bar for my 57 and I'm not sure if I want to use it or stay with leafs. I also have the panhard bar and coilovers and I'd sure like to get some feedback as well from anyone who can speak from experience on both systems. I won't be air-bagging it, will I need a rear swaybar too?
