Craigslist Score!!!! Woooo Hooooo!

Scored this 89 Crew 1 ton frame and body for my 87 V30 Crewcab shortbed conversion. Body was ziebart treated new, so rust is minimal for an Indiana truck. A newer 4 row radiator rode home in the back seat. Part of the deal. Also still has a TH400 trans, and corporate 12 Bolt rear.

$500 for all of it!

Last 5. Notice how bad it made my 3/4 ton van squat.

Nice Score! That is a serious load for that trailer with one axle. Glad you made it home okay. :)

Is that trailer frame supposed to be bent? You are braver than I am.

I knew you guys were going to mention the trailor, and that's why u guys are an important part of my life on this board. You never let a bad day go without smiling.

Did I mention the trailor rent was FREE! It was country roads and a short distance to get it home. I'm thinking I need to start saving for a good car (truck) trailor.

Your pictures have convinced me to use a heavier truck than mu 1/2 Suburban. I have 6 hours to travel to get my crew cab.

I will say you did very very well. Wish I had your interior in mine.

Was it posted very long before you got to it, and did you get a clear title? Definitely a very good score.

Re: Craigslist Score!!!! Woooo Hooooo!

that van is squatting so much because the wheels on the front axle are gone and there is too much weight on the tongue...if the weight is dispersed right, it wouldn't sag like that...

$500 for all of it!

I don't think I wanna see what a rusty Indiana truck looks like! Even so, $500 is a good price. You could probably sell the front clip alone for that much, and the wheels look great too (the center caps, not so much).

the truck should have hauled the van home:lol:

 In retrospect I guess I should have just used a tow strap, but I didn't know the condition of the brakes and lines, and the truck has been parked for 2 years. Good thing is I only hauled it about 12 miles, and I never got over 30 mph. The roads were all smooth and flat too.

The way some of you guys are making it sound you'd think I hauled it 70 mph on the interstate though the hills of Kentucky.

The fact of the matter remains that I got what I think was a good deal, and here is how I justified it in my mind and to the wife. These prices in my mind are conservative yard sale type prices.

Usable doghouse: $100
Aluminum wheels $100
Used tires in good condition $100
Kenwood CD deck $25
89 1.5 DIN dash bezel $25
TH 400 trans $100
rearend $100
usable doors $100
a few ebayable parts $100
some scrap metal $200

We're already at $950. N
Nobody died in the process= Priceless. :smoke:
