bad tie rod cause pulling when on the brakes? or shake not braking
84 c10 put calipers on it a few years ago, I think about 4-5, new pads and rotors, new bearings on the front. New wheels, new tires, and balanced.
Found out today the outer ps tie rod end has some slop in it. Would that cause the truck to shake while driving not brakeing, like when a wheel is bent or tires not balanced or something? Mainly would it cause the truck to pull hard to one side when on the brakes, I forget which way it pulls, but sometimes it kinda goes back and forth when on the brakes kinda wiggly from side to side. |

check the tire pressure , the tightness of the bearings and if that is good then yes it can cause some wiggling

Yeah, it could cause all sorts of issues. I believe it causes a shimmy at higher speeds, and depending on how bad it is, you might feel it when you brake, too. How does the tire wear look on that side? If I'm not mistaken, tread cupping is an issue when it is worn. I'd definitely replace it either way as it is not expensive.

oh yea it's getting replaced, my old man is planning on maybe changing it all out though, all the tie rods, all the ball joints, idler and pitman just to make it all new. He has an upper control arm to put on the ds anyways since it has a rust hole in it.
