Cleaning instrument lenses

Some of you may already know about this stuff, or have something you've used, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I got tired of not being able to see my gauges through the lenses because they were so scuffed up and sun-damaged. Especially at night, the light actually lit up the lense itself and it was like looking through a glowing fog.
I tried windex and armor-all and such, to no avail, but then a friend of mine told me about this stuff that he used on his boat windshield, so I bought some and look how well it worked! I love it! Now all I have to do is get my led lights in and they'll be perfect!

Okay, all I had was my crappy phone. Give a guy a break! :) Seriously though, I was excited and I just wanted to share.

If you can somehow get bigger pictures, i'd really like to see them.

can't get bigger of the before since it's done, but here's some better after pictures. a lot of glare for some reason. Maybe it's too shiny now cause they reflect everything.

I used the same stuff on my gauges...unfortunately my plastic has a defect inside the plastic that looks like waves of an ocean.

That sucks. I was thinking maybe I should take the plastic off and do the backside also, but they turned out so nice I don't think I'll bother.

On the other hand, I'm putting in red LED lighting soon, so at that point I probably will.

looks way better . i was just about to look in to something to clean mine but then i picked up a new one at a swap meet last week .
does that make your gauges brighter at night with the lights on too ?

Re: Cleaning instrument lenses

Is it available to the public?

It makes it easier to see through the plastic, but no, it doesn't do anything for the brightness. Still pretty dim, that's why I'm thinking i'm going to put in the LED lights, and chrome the inside of the-cluster-holder thingy. Yes, I can see them a lot better even though I'm down a few lights and what I do have are very dim. By the time I get done with it I hope to HAVE to use the dimmer switch or risk blinding myself. :)
