LennyGB53, When I bought this column the previous owner told me that everything still worked good when it was removed but I personally haven't checked it.

I tore mine apart and put in a new switch. However, now I can't get the piece below the signal switch to go back in deep enough. I would like to get it fixed. I'll give it some thought.
