1972 highlander c10.... which auto trans is it?
So, I have a 1972 chevy c10 highlander with a 350v8 and the SPID only lists 'turbo hydramatic" for the trans... it is a th350 or th400?
The truck was optioned quite nicely with ps, pb, AC, and orig california emissions airpump. Any help would be appreciated. ~Zach |

I guess I should also mention it has the 3.08 rearend with a limited slip. How much torque will those long gears hold up to?

With a 350 engine you most likely have a TH350 transmission. To find out for sure, crawl under and note the shape of the pan. A TH350 pan is rectangular with one corner cut off diagonally. A TH400 pan is shaped somewhat like the state of Illinois.

I am guessing with the 350 V8 you have the 350 tranny. All BB trucks had the 400 tranny.

Tell you what...If you're concerned about the 3.08 holding up, just send it my way, and I'll trade you for my open-rear 3.73...
