Need knowledgable parts help

Went to the junk yard today and saw a 76 that was mostly all the way gone. It had a front sway bar on it that, by all outward appearance, looked exactly like one for a 67-72. I mean it was a dead ringer, it mounted the same and everything! My question is will it fit a 72? I didn't have time to measure it as I was on a break from work and the guy is gonna crush the truck shortly. Also, do any of you know (I'm sure someone does) if the rear leaf springs off a 76 will work on a 72? I didn't have time to measure them either.

Both front sway bar and rear leaf springs? I looked at a spring company website and noticed the length was the same but thickness (up and down) was different and the weight rating was less than a 67-72 spring. Obviously they will work lengthwise but will everything else work out?

Re: Need knowledgable parts help

So does anyone know if leaf springs from a 76 2wd truck fit a 72 GMC 2wd truck? I already know the length is good but was wondering about the height and the spring rate. The 67-72 springs are rated at about 2650 and the 73-?? is rated at about 1950. Would it give a better ride or sag or what?
