82 4x4 conversion

ok, so right now, i have a 1982 gmc c2500 6.2d. i also have a rusted out 82
k2500 im using for parts. my first plan was to just put my motor and body on the 4x4 frame, but that frame is pretty rusty, and all the brake lines, gas lines, gas tanks, e brake cable, etc are all shot. so since my 82 2wd frame is in good condition and everything works on it, i was wondering how hard it would be to just drill out the rivets mounting the 2wd front end on, and all the rivets for front leaf spring mounts on the 4x4 to put the axle underneath the 2wd. the c2500 cab is a manual, so im pretty sure the hub will work with a tcase.

any other things i need to address? all input will be appreciated.
thanks:chevy:

I am far from an expert, but I know I've read that the 4x4 transmission hump in the cab is bigger to allow room for the tranfer case. I would say it is like most things automotive it's possible if you have the time and the money.

The big thing that I recently had to deal with was the motor mounts. The 4x4 is about 1/4 too tall to sleeve into a 2wd frame. I cut it down and welded it to make it work. Im not sure about the trans tunnel yet. Im still in the mock up stage myself. You have the parts truck on hand so you have it made! Good luck to ya
