Steelie question
Is the 6 lug on our 60-66 2WD trucks the same pattern as the K5 Blazer 6 lug wheels?

Re: Steelie question
Even though they both have the 5.5 bolt circle, isn't the center bore size different (smaller) on the newer trucks than ours? If so, anyone know what year the change(s) occurred? I heard you can get 1/4 inch spacer plates to get the wheel out far enough so that center bore size is not an issue. Also like info on that if anyone knows.

Re: Steelie question
According to post #11 on the following thread from Raycow, the wheels to use are 71-87 (4x4). The 88 and up wheels have the smaller center hole:

Using these you don't lose the hub-centric mounting advantages. I am betting though if the "new wheels" have a smaller hub than the existing truck hub that the spacers would have to be thicker than a 1/4". With the cheap spacers like these http://www.jegs.com/i/Mr.+Gasket/720/2376/10002/-1 you loose the hubcentric advantages. |
Re: Steelie question
More great info. Im still running drums on the front and plan to keep it that way. Hopefully the stock wheels wont be an issue.

Re: Steelie question
I'm still running the stock drum setup frt. & rear .. No Problems .. Even when upgrading to a newer frt. suspension or just doing the disc only conversion all should work well together since the stock Rallys were 99% of the time always on a model with factory disc exactly like we end up swapping over to .. 2 whl or 4 whl drive .. There is enough clearance and depth , for rotor and caliper offset ... :ito:

Re: Steelie question
Lake Roadster was right about wheeladapter.com, even if you don't need the adapters-talk to Fred over there, he is a cool old guy that ran around with Shelby in his hey day and has good stories. He makes the adapter as you need them.
