Re: Scott's 73-87 Bolt in crossmember Confirmed!!!
Looks nice! Does your new crossmember lower a truck more than a set of spindles and air bags would on a stock setup? Whats the price?

Re: Scott's 73-87 Bolt in crossmember Confirmed!!!
I really like this setup. I'll be buying something like this as soon as my wallet recovers from the current chassis/powertrain build....I had to settle for less this round....for now....

Re: Scott's 73-87 Bolt in crossmember Confirmed!!!
Ok, I installed the front end that I got from Scott's Hotrod before SEMA and I have video of the install. I'll get to that later. The victum this 82 Suburban that I scored for $400 bucks. Now I know its not pretty but thats cool by me. Now to this point Scott's hasn't installed one of these frontends on a Square body so follow along.
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3928.jpg We pull off the nose so it would be easier to shoot video. The engine was a 350 in need of a rebuild. With a turbo 350 behind it.The orginal 700r4 was long gone. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3935.jpg The frame has some damage that will get fixed http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3937.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3947.jpg The crossmember fit right in like it is supossed to. Here is were I have to sell the job Every front end that Scotts' Hotrods build is tig welded. The crossmember is .25 2x4 box tube. The rod ends are machined out of Stainless Steel http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3943.jpg The spindles are new Mustang II style. I got the drop spindles with 5 on 5 bolt pattern. |
Re: Scott's 73-87 Bolt in crossmember Confirmed!!!
Some of you guys are wondering why I would get the coil over front end. Well it is simple I have 4 Burbans. One will remain stock the second will get spindles and springs with a flip kit. The third has the coil over front end with a 4-bar. Number 4 gets bags front cross member and bags. Stock floor body drop. So now you know the plan
One thing I will say I like that Mustang II style spindle are used on the front end. These are new dropped spindles. There are plenty of big brake packages for them. I got the 5 on 5 lug pattern. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...U/IMG_3959.jpg I'll get some more pictures up in the next day or two. |

Re: Scott's 73-87 Bolt in crossmember Confirmed!!!
Do engine mounts come pre welded in. Or is that up to the installer?
