Step Side to fleetside conversion

I am strongly considering changing the bed on the 65' C-10 to a fleetside...If my dad will cooperate with me anyway. I have looked "a little" but does anyone sell repo fleetside beds? Am I just gonna have to scour Craigslist, ebay, the for sale section etc until I can find a used one or is their an easier way? Granted i would love to come across a used one in decent shape for cheap, but who wouldn't. Any thoughts or advice on how I can do this efficiently and as inexpensive as possible I would greatly appreciate it!

As far as I know there aren't any repro fleetside bedsides made. There was talk of someone making them a couple years ago, but I have yet to see them.

Are their any shops, junkyards, salvage places etc that are somewhat known for having bedsides, beds or older truck parts/beds? I come from the fbody world and their are several shops throughout the US that have all kinds of parts (engine, tranny, drivetrain, interior, body, etc)...curious if their are places like this for the C-10?

There are some guys here that may have a bed to sell ya but they aren't to close to KY.
Rich Sisneros in Colorado, his email is rjsisneros@ria.net

Tony Smith in Kansas City, his email is 4-5-6chevytrucks@sbcglobal.net
My suggestion would be to check Craigslist in your area and be on the lookout for a trailer made from the bed you are looking for.

I am a stepside guy.... I question your sanity

Hope this helps!

To make it easier on yourself, try and find a fleetside bed 63-66 as the mounting positions are different on the 60-62.

If you were closer, I have a fleetside bed that was disassembled, and sitting in the stepside bed of my 60, that you could just have.
