Re: front sway bar

a good cheap one for the lowered trucks is the bigger 1-ton sway bar mounted directly to the frame. i think they are the same on 3/4-tons too. and the poly bushings make a big difference if you drive the pizz outta your truck like a maniac, which is most of us i assume lol

Stock is all you need for our trucks. Bigger is better. Check out the how to I did in the FAQ section. Lots of good info.

I have a wrecking yard 1 - 1/4 inch front bar from a big ol 8 lug suburban on my 78 1/2 ton. I always have my eyes peeled for a stock rear bar, but haven't actually seen one yet.

My truck had no bar, and the original '78 shocks when I got it...the difference was like night and day.

Same here. I was running a C/20 bar until I replaced it with a Ride Tech "Muscle Bar"...:metal:

Same here. I used Prothane bushings and mounted it directly to the frame. What a difference! Definitely the best thing you can do for the handling, if your truck didn't come with one. I too am looking for a rear bar, but I don't think it will be as noticeable.

Belltech. Combined with the 4.5/6 drop, truck handles AMAZING! Like a gocart. As you can see only after 2 winters, the bar has some surface rust though.

Went to the local junk yard and pulled one off 80. Cleaned it up, fresh paint, And bushing mounts from LMC. All good to go.
Its a MUST have!
