83 sm464 and 208 transfercase
 

I know of a guy selling a sm465 out of a 83 3/4 ton with a np208 transfercase. I was wondering if the transmission has a 10 spine output shaft because I want to use a np205 transfercase. The transfercase I have is out of a 80 3/4 ton and it was behind a sm465, my transmission had gears that wobble on the output shaft so instead of rebuilding it i am looking for another one.

I'm not a transmission guy, but you might get better response if you PM a mod and have them move this to the drivetrain forum.

I think I figured out my own question, It seems as if the NP208 has a 32 spline input so that means the 4 speed has a 32 spline output.

According to High-Impact Transmission & Gear. The GM right hand drop NP208 has 2 input spline possibilities.

27 Spline female input shaft mated to a TH350 or TH700R4 auto.
32 Spline female input shaft mated to a TH400 auto or SM465 stick.

According to Novak Conversions. The SM465 has at least 2 output spline counts depending on the year and transfer case mated to it.

1968-1978 10 Spline male output mated to the NP205.
1979-1991 32 Spline male output mated to the NP208
