Just got it here, no surprises. 4 core radiator got stolen out of it at the car lot before I bought it. Any input on the spid would be appreciated, it has the higlander seat cover, but no tilt???? Not much rust, tool box door and below, and pass inner fender, and a little bubbling on pass cup. One dent in very top of tailgate above handle and adent on inside gate. Bed floor has no rust but it did have a fifth wheel hitch in it at one, becuase there are 4 holes in floor. Still has original shocks on the back of it, not sure about teh front. I'm taking the topper, mudflaps, 8 track and CB off for sure then clean it up, put radiator in and fix tranny lines where they cut them and hopefully it will run. Stickers are worn but it is 38 years old. Not sure what I'm going to do with it keep it ot sell it. Thanks Randy

There were 3 different "highlander" packages with the top of the line package including the tilt. I don't know alot about them but I am sure someone has the literature on them.

Samey, I thought I read somewhere if they had AC they should have tilt, but not sure. Thanks Randy

Randy typically the highlanders say special promotional on the glovebox door. As larry posted there were three packages, but pretty sure that they were exactly that packages, I have seen only one truck tha was a "low" option "A"package, most were the "C" package which had air and tilt plus the special seat and everything included in the lower two packages. Yours looks like the "c" package truck with some custom camper options added as well. Looks like it may have been a special order unit by the dealership. Where was the truck built? After looking at the engine sticker it may have been an "early" highlander which would have been the prepackage group. The package was to help move the latter trucks to make room for the 73 models. Nice truck. What did the wife have to say or is it going to be a surprise :) ?

THANKS Harold, so you think it should of had tilt or was just special ordered this way? Everything is so original I wouldn't think the tilt would of got taken out of it but it may have I guess. Not sure where it was built. I'll get the vin number tomorrow. Susie seen it and said "Oh another truck when you going to part it out?" I told her I was going to sit it back for awhile till after Christmas and then do something with it.;) Thank god she doesn't know the finances around here:lol: Thanks for your help, Randy

All the highlanders i have seen and had tilt had the "special promotional package" listed and have the tilt list too (seperately)

The trucks with just " orange plaid listed" and not the special promotional package and not the tilt listed, do not necessarily have a tilt.

The first 2 pics are one truck/ with tilt and it is listed. And the last 3 pics are another truck/ no tilt and no tilt listed . The last SPID looks alot like yours with no tilt listed.

Randy, Very neat rare survivor Eagle. You just don't see those anywhere these days. I really believe it is an early Highlander promotion truck and without tilt as it has all the markings of the Highlander Custom Deluxe but it is missing the Special Promotional model listing on the option list. All the original Highlanders I have had or seen used the black carpet and dash pad and parchment door panels and belts. Just like yours. Only way I ever saw a Custom Deluxe equipped truck with the parchment seat belts and door panels would have had that sandalwood dash and of course a rubber floor mat in sandlewood. The Cheyennes also would have been that same color of sandlewood but of course carpeting. Im almost certain it was the lower Highlander package just a little odd it didn't list it on the option list. Great find! Mark
