Quick rearend flip question
I did a search earlier and couldn't find my answer.
When you do your own flip, either purchasing new perches or making your own (if you have the equipment). How far do you need to move the rearend rearwards to recenter it in the wheelwells? |
Re: Quick rearend flip question
I didn't move mine any, but I had my drive shaft shortened.
I'll try to snap a pic of the wheel in the opening tomorrow. Btw, I have a pair of flip brackets for sale in the classified section.... Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Quick rearend flip question
I was just wondering if this is standard procedure. having to shorten the driveshaft, or moving the rearend rearwards to recenter it?

Re: Quick rearend flip question
Hey joe, would it be to much to ask to have you find the center and then measure from there to the center of the hole and give me that distance?
We have lasers and brakes at work, so I can pretty much make or have made the parts I need. |

Flip kits move the axle back 3/4" to allow the original drive shaft to work. Quote:
I'm pretty sure it's 3/4" but I will verify that tomorrow. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Quick rearend flip question
so the original drive shaft will work.?

Re: Quick rearend flip question
Cool, thanks joe.
I was thinking it was 3/4", but looking at pictures of the kit brackets and it looks like more than that. |

It is engineered to be bolt in. Quote:
Curiosity got the better of me.... I just measured, and you are correct. Looks as though the hole is @ 1 1/16th" offset. The hole is also 3/4" diameter, which seems kinda large. I bought some axle perches from Tractor Supply to flip mine when I installed a 1995 C-1500 rear diff. I'll try to see how centered the wheels are tomorrow. Posted via Mobile Device |
