6 years on the board, and back again!
 

Hey all!

To think that I have been lurking this board for a decade and a member for more than 6 years is crazy. A lot has changed since then.

I spent the last 4 years in college, away from and missing my 72' back home. I remember how deeply I missed my truck and my long lost hobby while away at school; its funny how much our identities can be wrapped up in these old things. Since then I have found new hobbies - I am an avid trap and skeet shooter these days. I am also now engaged to my high school sweet heart after making it through all of those years together.

Still though, I have felt like I was missing something. After returning home to find Blu covered in a deep blanket of dust, it all made sense! Im going to pull the 496BBC that has STILL yet to have been fired this weekend and make a trip to my old boss's dyno. I figure after all this time, I might as well do it right and double check my timing, lash, etc in a controlled environment. My 'college DD' decided to blow a head gasket a few weeks ago and its a total loss... so my plan is to get the BBC running in the truck, yank it, and put a real mild 350 crate in its place for mileage and reliability purposes.... Then start planning a purpose built drag truck :devil:

What, Auto with them tires lol Glad your back! I've been here for almost a half a year and learned SO MUCH. Also nice truck.

Thanks! Yeah, its a TH-350 that I had built with kevlar bands, a 4000 RPM converts and other goodies. I still dont expect it to live long behind that much power, however...

Eventually I would love to convert to an NV-4500
