Got a factory one on my truck, not a LMC replica. Got it for $25 or so if I recall, craigslist find. I like the looks of them personally. I do think the bumper guards are more practical for me though, since we might use the old truck to push other cars around at times. I'll have to decide after we paint it and put the front bumper back on.

Re: anyone have the lmc truck grille guard?
they're the same ones you see on anyones truck online or in person as long as they are made the same, 1/4 plate on each side and then 2 tubes. All the same, jcwhitney used to have and sell them alot cheaper.

Re: anyone have the lmc truck grille guard?
Being a fan of chrome I also pondered one of those brush guards.
Yet in the end, the oem bumper guards are what I chose for practicality. They look decent for what they are and the truck won't suffer damage if needed and used properly as a push vehicle. Recall this used pair costs around $50 compared to what a new LMC brush guard would. http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/a...umperguard.jpg I have to agree withRandyP about what works best if you ever use the truck to push another. That brush guard won't work the task without damage. Either choice looks good though. Mark:chevy: |

Upon initial install, I had to take a unibit and wallow the holes out, they didn't quite fit the bolt holes on the bumper. A couple were off about 1/8 inch or so, just enough to make me cuss. Make sure you have a helper too, the corners of the bolt tabs are sharp, and will scratch the chrome on your bumper. Also, you will have to polish the crap out of it often, as it will rust if your truck sits outside and gets wet. I used Mother's powerball and Mothers polish on mine every couple weeks. The KC daylighters mounted to it perfectly. I'll post pics later. |

Re: anyone have the lmc truck grille guard?
It isn't pretty.... and I am sure it is not what you are looking for.
When RandyP mentioned pushing cars around I thought hell I had the best of both worlds. I cut down a CUCV brush guard to just the middle section and it has flat area on the front for pushing as well. With a good coat of black paint it would probably look good or better... not real pretty but damn strong. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...4&d=1132808599 |
Re: anyone have the lmc truck grille guard?
thanks guys, very useful posts. babyjay's pics are perfect because i planned to get the KC lights with the bar. square ones though. and prerunner, i like the idea of adding push guards to the bar itself. i'll probably do that too

Re: anyone have the lmc truck grille guard?
There should be a rule. If you have one of these you MUST paint your truck like the General Lee, and do sick jumps with it!
