Square making a turn?

Hello , I am looking to improve the handling on my old 86 it’s a swb 2wd no factory sway bar , my first idea is to put all new bushing in the control arms and install a sway bar I’m wondering what brand bar and bushing should I bee looking at the truck is its stock ride height, and (I would like to keep it that way) with 15x10 275,60 tires all the way around , and if a rear sway bar is worth the money, any incite would be greatly appreciated

Get the rear sway bar, thickest you can, and upgrade your front bar to a stock 1 ton unit with poly bushing all around. It'll be a night and day difference.

Good call. I've been hunting one of those for a good while for my 3/4 ton.

If you truck was not equipped with a rear sway bar it's not going to have the bolt holes for it right? or did they just make the holes on all frames and then added the sway bar later? I have a front one but I'm looking to get a rear one

Most 2wd Burbs came with front sway bars, and you can look at C20's as well. Its easy to find a front bar, the rears are not so common. If your truck did not come with a bar, it probably won't have the mounting stands. These are riveted to the frame so it takes a bit of effort to retrieve them.

Adding a front swaybar from the local junkyard (none on the rear) made a huge difference in the handling on my truck. It was probably the most cost effective modification i have made to it in the 10 years i have owned it.
