Considering buying... opinions, please!!
1 Attachment(s)
A friends dad has this for sale... 77 LWB
The story is... was restored 6 years ago and mostly garaged since... has aftermarket air. Never any rust... 350/350 combo. Asking $6500 I have yet to see it in person... but IF it is as nice as stated... is that a decent price?? |
Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
I would need more pics and details to give an educated evaluation. Define "restored" in more detail. It looks like fresh paint, but does that include interior, motor, or what? Based on what you have provided it seems a 1k high for a LWB.

Looks like a nice truck, but I think you can do much better for your money. If it was my truck think I'd be smiling all the way to the bank. Your friends dad is lookin at you like a money tree.

Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
Definatly would need more info and pics but that sounds high to me. If it was a SWB I think it would be closer but long beds are extremely plentiful.

If it was SWB I would have already been over there!!!! :) |
Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
I think that's too much for a lwb truck.

agree ^^ to all the above

Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
The trim should be gold/yellow in the center for the '77 model year.
Too much money,... (my opinion) unless you are in love with the truck. But,... I bet you couldn't restore it for $6500. |
Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
I agree with everyone else. If the interior is in great shape (not restored) and the engine is nothing special than I would say around $4500 would be more accurate. If we start paying high prices for 73-87 long beds now, the future is going to be real rough for our hobby.

Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
Personally I like the longbeds. I just think it's a little high for the truck, regardless of being a longbed or shortbed.

It's a lot of money, but that thing looks mint!

Re: Considering buying... opinions, please!!
It's entirely possible that the owner has $6500 invested in that truck. However, it is very rare to recoup all of the money invested in a restoration of a vehicle unless it is a true collector vehicle. I have always lost money when selling a vehicle, except for some new vehicles sold shortly after purchase (special situations, not likely to happen again.) As I always say in these situations, $6500 goes a long way toward buying a new truck, unless you want a square instead.
