What size tires fit on a stock 1ton cc 4x4??
I will be picking up a crew cab srw this week and it needs new winter tires to make the trip home and be drivable. I usually use tire rack to find sizes and compare prices but they dont list a 1ton crew cab 4x4. Whats the usual tires size for said truck? Would I just use a reg cab 1 ton for reference? I was thinking for size it should be 275/75/16 but would like opinions...
On another note has anyone used the goodyear wrangler duratrac? Any other good winter tire suggestions? |

I have a 1984 GMC Sierra 3500 2wd Single rear wheel that came stock with 235/85/16.
I run Bridgestone Dueler Ats but just both 2 NOKIAN HAKKAPELIITTA LT TIRES for my rear tires for the winter. http://www.nokiantires.com/files/nok.../hak_lt_lg.jpg. These are suppose to be the best winter tires in the world. |

Load C tires are too light. They will be bouncy and wear themselves out in 15k miles. I tried them on my reg cab 3/4 ton, and they sucked. When I went back to E tires it improved the ride 10x. I havent tried out a load D tire as i couldnt find one in the size I wanted.

Re: What size tires fit on a stock 1ton cc 4x4??
I'm running 285/75/16 (33/11.5/16) on my 1 ton, but it is a RC DRW. The front is really the main place you need to worry about clearance. I clear them just fine, and I believe my front is sagging a bit as well anyway. Although since you specify you are looking for a good winter tire, narrower would be better correct? A 255/85/16 would measure roughly 33/10.0/16. Or 235/85/16-32/9.25/16.

Re: What size tires fit on a stock 1ton cc 4x4??
I ordered a set of the goodyear duratrac 265/75R16, They have a great tread design and from all the reviews I got from around my area where great so I went with them. I aslo went with load range E and this truck will be uses as such and dont need any issues with ballooning. Thanks for all your advice guys, I get the truck tomorrow and then get the tires and will be home friday just in time for christmas. Its supposed to snow thursday night so I will report back on how well the tires do.
