please can somebody help me this jack is getting heavy!
ok ive got a crane positioned, ive got a chain hooked to the motor, ive got everything diconected[i think]ive got a jack under the tranny pan with a piece of wood of equal size ive already diconnected the bolts that connect the tranny behind the dist.and the cross member is only bolted on one side loosely, the other has a jack stand what do i do next [what tranny and flywheel bolts?]

I would dissconnect the torque conveter to flex plate bolts, (4) and then dissconnect the engine mounts, and start picking up the engine. Then you will find what you forgot to dissconnect. . . :D

Go with what racedvl said.
If you have someone helping you, lay under the truck and have them slowly start lifting out the motor. You should be able to catch anything you forgot. |
thanx a bunch guys-um-arent you supposed to take the weight off the engine mounts before you unbolt them
|
No, you should be able to get the apart without jacking it up. The weight doesn't actually sit on the bolts.

i agree with what racedvl said, with one exception... not 4 bolts, should only be 3, possibly 6 though if your truck is a 3/4 or 1 ton. dont forget the belhousing bolts, there should be 6 of them as well.
