Are 10 bolts 8.5 30 spline?

I'm looking for a posi unit, and someone said they have one for a 10 bolt 8.5 30 spline they'd let me have for cheap. My truck has a stock 10 bolt in it, would this work for me?

some are 28 some are 30 I think depends on the year. i would get it and change out the axels to 30-spline axels. stronger imo. dont quote me tho lol

Any way to tell if you have 28 or 30?
My truck's an 86 that came stock with a 305. Probably 28 spline being my luck.

I believe the 30 spline started in 88 with the new body style

"
'88 and older 8.5" 10 Bolts including some early '89s have 28 spline axles. "

2WD=28 spline, except on the 88-98 trucks. 4WD were 30 spline and 6 lug, except the 10 bolt front, which is also a 28 spline.
