Im posting more to follow the thread, as i want to change my body bushing next summer, but i do beleive that if the bolt is striped youll have to cut a whole in the cab to get to the bolt. Anyway thats what a freind of mine told me.

id like to know more about this. i need to change my bodymounts. i have one that squeaks and makes noise, tried to lube it and that didnt help. eventually tried to tighten it, but found i couldnt loosen it either so i just let it alone. how do you exactly go about fixing a broken cab mount bolt?

If the captured nut is slipping/spinning, you have to cut a hole to remove it.

Cut a hole and tack weld the bolt, had to do it on mine.

Re: Cab Removal

That will work but the hole is pretty shallow. A body saw would work better if you have one.

This is an old thread, but I'm having a similar problem.

I went to take out the cab mount bolts, and snapped one. How have people fixed this? Try to drill it out from the bottom?

I've never seen bolts this bad before - this is the one I took out from the front location (where I was able to turn the nut from the bottom, rather than having to turn the bolt):

NO wonder the next one broke...
