Will stock 2006 3/4 wheels fit on 1983 C20?
I think I remember reading on here that late model 3/4 ton wheels will fit 8 lug pattern on 3/4 ton C20 trucks.
Just want to make sure before I buy something. Anyone that has done this please advise. Thank you. |

I am pretty sure that you can go newer to older on wheels, but not the other way due to the changes in disc brake size. I know the 8 lug pattern for GM hasnt changed over the years.

The 8 x 6 1/2" bolt pattern is the same but you may run into problems with the diameter of the center hole. The off-set may cause interference too.

Yes, they will fit. If you want to run the newer center cap you need special lugnuts like these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheel...item5ade35e414

I put 06 Chevy Express van 8 lugs on a 75 8 lug Chevy, no problem at all. But you need to find 16 inch wheels if what you have on now are 16.5s, and you will need the lug nuts that have the old internal threads and new external threads if you want to use the new center caps that are held on by the black plastic lug nut caps. They are easy to find on Ebay.

Well, I got a set of 2005 3/4 ton wheels and the front wheels do go on but don't seat as deep due to a slightly smaller diameter center hole. Rear wheels fit just and seat nice and deep. Anyone else have this problem and should I look at other wheels or years that may fit better?

I had no problem, and have been running the wheels for like 5 years now. I to got the lug nuts from the same place as Clinebarger did. You could maybe use a Dremel or grinder to make the hole a little bigger depending on how much.

TexasJeff, I like the look of your wheels on your truck. I will look into what you recommended. If I have to widen the center hole in won't be much because it almost sits all the way back. I will have to get the lug nuts from ebay I guess.
Has anyone else run into this problem and what did you do? |
