Newbie with lowering questions
2 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone... love this website :metal: I bought this 87' two weeks ago and purchased the mc graughy's 2 1/2- 4 inch kit with spindles. I didn't get to do the rear this weekend. My problem is i'm rubbing on the lower A-arms on turns. Any of you have this problem? I'm also running 275/60/15 all the way around.

Re: Newbie with lowering questions
Some would grind some of the A arm away for clearance, some would run a set of 15x7's for clearance. More options will ring in I'm sure.

Re: Newbie with lowering questions
My Summit Spindles had a note that said 3.75" max back spacing with a 15" wheel.
My truck has the stock 15x7's all around, but I'm going to put 8's on the back to avoid the bike seat stuffed up a fat guy's ass look. |
Re: Newbie with lowering questions
If you want to use those wheels, it sounds like you'll have to do some grinding. I'm running 2.5 spindles on mine with 8" rally wheels with no rubbing issues. I didn't have to do any grinding whatsoever.
Yours look the way mine did until I got around to dropping the back. I told everyone that I got better gas mileage this way because everything was downhill... :) Before and after: http://slonaker.net/gallery/albums/u...fore-after.jpg Slonaker |
Re: Newbie with lowering questions
Thank you guys for the replies. I had to send the spindles back because I had ordered the wrong size . I ordered the ones for 1 in. rotors instead of the 1-1/4. But the people at LMC were awesome about the return. Iwas wondering if you could post some pics of the rear hangers and shackles. Thanks...
