frame Measurement question 1956?

Can someone please measure from the tip of the front frame to the front edge of the radiator support bracket that is riveted to the frame. I cut mine off and wanted to make sure that I get them back where they belong.

Thanks in advance.

If I can get to my truck tomorrow I'll measure mine.

It's 6 1/2 inches on my 57. My truck was originally a six cylinder if that makes any difference.

Factory V8 is about 5 inches farther back than 6 cyl. 6cyl location will probably work best.

I am not sure if the motor type should make any difference. Anybody else know?

Re: frame Measurement question 1956?

There is another hole in the frame about 4 3/4 inches farther back from the rear rivet in my radiator support bracket. It's 1/4 inch short and not in line so that the same bracket could not be used and simply mounted using that hole and the current rear hole. If V8 trucks had the bracket mounted there it would also need to be slightly different than a Six cylinder truck. The holes placement and spacing are the same on both sides so probably not off due to sloppy 1957 tolerences.

On my 58 3100 it is 8 1/4 inches from the tip of the frame to the centerline of the forward rivet.
