Re: 454 plugs

AC Delco R45TS or R44T the only plugs I use in a chevy Big Block.

Re: 454 plugs

I always had great luck with your basic, $2.xx AC Delco plugs. I've never had one fail on me. I've blown champions straight out of my motor before (left the threaded part in the motor, but blew the ceramic part straight out, hard enough to split the boot on the wire!), went back to AC Delco and never regretted it. Nothing but good results.

NGK's haven't done me wrong.

Doesn't run any different than the Delco's I had before.

NGK ur4s are exactly what we run in our big block, and were actually recommended by a ton of very knowledgeable people over on the team chevelles forum.

I x 4 or 5 where ever I'm at on this list only because AC are a gm brand, but I'd think about leaning towerds prostreet68sb if I had changed internals for more power

Re: 454 plugs

Since I drive my 454 almost exclusively in stop and go short city trips, I buy the cheapest on sale since I have to replace them every year due to massive carbon buildup. My last few sets were Bosch platinum, since they were free with $2 rebate per plug - I bought two extra sets to take advantage of the offer. If I had to pay cash I would go back to AC R44T - they seemed to carbon up a bit less. I always try to take advantage of free offers - got 2 free gallons of 50/50 Peak antifreeze at the same time. I still have two cases of Valvoline in the shed I got for $.99 per quart, and a stack of Fram oil filters I got for $.99 ea. Of course, if I drove the truck hard every day I would probably have a different attitude about using top quality materials.
