Getting My 350 Rebuilt Tx (Houston)

Hey guys just about to get my income tax in this week and i want to rebuild my 1987 350 EFI. How much does a rebuild cost on average and does any of my Houston folks suggest anyone?

might be easier to buy a crate motor i like the way the patriot motors are setup... just my .02

Check with crate engine prices before you take the jump. If yours is still running, the long block should be worth $500 to someone who's just looking for a running engine. Knock that off the price of a crate and you'll have an engine with a warranty for about the same - or less than - a rebuild.

I think a crate motor is the way to go, after all the new parts, the machine work and your labor needed to do a rebuild correct, that the cost of a crate motor with a warranty will look much better to you.

I had looked into Precision... they are in houston, close to downtown on Harrisburg. they were quick to answer my emails...
their performance engine prices look almost too good to be true!
(350 stree heat 350 hp for 1799.00 !)

I dealt with precision before to buy a stock built motor with no problems. But that price for that 350 with 350hp sounds too good to be true. Ill double check on that. My stock built was almost that much. But deff. Go with a crate than rebuilt. Or screw it go lsx. Uncle sam is paying for it anyways..lol

Guess I`ll be the first non Texas resident to reply, lol. You can get a brand new GM TBI long block for about $1800 and it will come with a warranty. These are not remanufatured engines, they are BRAND NEW. Granted they are stock 200hp replacemnts but it`s hard to beat a new engine at that price. I find it hard to belive your going to get 350hp out of a TBI 350 with a crap TBI heads without alot of work and woul cost more than $1799 but thats just me.
