1970 Blazer project
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm new to this page and I picked up a 1970 Blazer 2wd just before Thanksgiving. I stored it away for the winter and will be cleaning it up in the spring. It's going to need floors but I think I'm going to run it like it is for one season. Then start on a complete tear down next fall. Lets hear some of your ideas on what I could do to this thing? Thanks Joe |
Re: 1970 Blazer project
WOW!!!!!! One of my top dream vehicles to find! An unmolested, first gen, 2-wheel Blazer! Not rusty? Where is it from?
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Welcome aboard! Love that color! What do YOU have in mind for it? Any more pic's? We love pic's!
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Awesome Blazer... but we need more pics!
You didn't by chance pick this up from a member (lks dcvn) of this board in OH did you? |
Re: 1970 Blazer project
That blazer sure looks familiar!! If its not lks dcvn's old blazer than it is an exact duplicate.
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
That's what I was thinking... was trying to find the pics of lks dcvn's blazer but haven't found his thread yet.
**EDIT** It is one and the same... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t=dcvn+project |
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Shveet, I vote for disc brakes, static drop, fill it full of gas and drive it!

Re: 1970 Blazer project
Welcome to the board!

Re: 1970 Blazer project
Nice truck, a very good platform to start from. Some may call me biased, but i love that color. What are the plans when you decide to tear into it?
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Yes I picked it up from a board member in Ohio. There is rust that for sure.
I would like to drop it 2 1/2 and add power disc at the same time. |
Re: 1970 Blazer project

Re: 1970 Blazer project

Look at the size of that shift lever. OMG. lol
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Kill any rust, drop it and drive! I am glad to see that the new owner is a board member.
|
Re: 1970 Blazer project
Rust on the bottom- but zero sundamage on top! Look how nice that steering wheel is! The same color wheel in my truck is totally baked away- but then there's no rust either.

2 pic's of the under side, also of the hub caps that it came with. Aren't these Covette hub caps?

That is a GREAT looking sandalwood steering wheel. You just don't find sandalwood wheels like that very often. Very nice! |
