Airlift 5000 on a lowered 1 ton dually
I purchased an airlift 5000 kit for my lowered dually. The rear is lowered about 5". When I rough assembled the bag and brackets and placed on the leaf pack I am only going to get about 5.25" of space between the top and bottom bracket. The documentation requires the spacing to be between 5-8". Now I know I am inside the range but not by much. Actually when I put the bed back on I bet I will be below the 5" range. Has anyone used this kit before and what were you seeing for clearance? If it was like mine have you had any problems with the bags bottoming out?

Do you have room under the bed to raise the top bracket up farther? I realize it will be above the frame, but that can be addressed with more welding and fabbing.
What are you doing for air? |

Ride Techs set-up sits fore/aft of the axle tubes which give more room for the bags. Did you find a p/n on the bags yet?

Re: Airlift 5000 on a lowered 1 ton dually
Google search yields:
9.1 max height 2.3 min height 2270lb capacity @ 100psi Their literature does not list ride height specifically so I would average the bags range & say you need 5.5-6.5" @ 'ride height'. Since you have more than 2.3" between the brackets, you should be ok. Make sure that the 2.3" min bag height is not your only travel stop too. |
