1970 GMC C2500 Question.

Hello,

I am new to the forum. I have a 1970 GMC C2500. I am swapping to disk brakes on the front. I purchased the upper and lower control arms, the rotors and spindles that came off a 1986 c20 Chevy from a local Austin, TX member on this forum. Here is my question, Will the linkages from the 1970 connect to the 1986? I have already bought new brake lines, calipers and pads to fit the 1986 front end. Are there any known problems that I should be aware of in this swap? I can not confirm that they are 1986, they may be 1985, etc. Will this make a difference? Any help, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Hello and welcome to the board. 85/86 won't matter...same thing. I believe you will need the 85/86 tie rod ends,IIRC.

I was afraid of that. I guess I need to find 1980's 3/4 ton tie rods now. Thank you for the info.
