Going through the stack of Classic Truck magazines I just hadn't gotten to the May 2003 issue yet with the story I wrote on Harry Bradley. Was one of the most fun articles I ever did- and I don't think the part about the Blazer was ever known before this. Check it out, Jim

I always wondered who was behind the design and small window! And that center console would have been really cool. Thanks for finding it!!!

I remember this one and the others you post vividly. Sadly my boxes of old 'zines succumbed to my wife's incessant spring cleaning last year but not before I went through some of my favorites and that was one of them!

Hey Jim,

Harry Bradley's customized El Camino was in the vault at the Peterson the last time I was down there... 2 years ago, or so.

It looks like while I was drinking beer and taking pictures of girls bent over lowered trucks at truck shows you were writing some historically significant articles... Oh well, wasted youth.

Hey- you said it, not me- LOL!!!! But I'm sure we ALL look back fondly on the drunk blonde girl from the river in the lime green G-string draped over the "body dropped" tribal painted S-10. A CLASSIC piece of journalism that may far outlast the documentation of where one of the greatest American truck designs came from.

Also I'm SURE your outtakes are FAR more interesting than mine!

I've got my copy...somewhere. Glad you found yours and got it posted. Lot's of history in that article. I'm glad you were able to do the interview. I rank it right up there with the articles done on some of the old customs. The guy who created The Polynesian Chevy hardtop in the early Fifties, comes to mind.

This is a very cool article.

Jim (or anyone) do you know of an archive of old classic truck magazine articles online?
