All Terrain Tires
I'm looking to put some larger tires on my '06 crew cab but don't want to do a lift. I plan on using my stock 17" rims and wanted to know the largest all terrain tires I can run. I've been told the BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain TA's at 285/70/R17 is a good choice. But, is this the largest I can tuck without rubbing issues? Also any other brand suggestions are appreciated...

Re: All Terrain Tires
I am currently running Pirelli Scorpian ATR's LT285/75R16 on a stock suspension 04' 1500 Extcab 4x4. This was the biggest tire I could run without doing any modes and no rubbing.
http://www.us.pirelli.com/web/image_.../atr4large.jpg They do real well on road and when I would to Nebraska each year to hunt I have been caught there when it rains and those dirt roads get slick. They pulled real well. My buddy and my dad both have 06' 2500 HD's crew cab 4x4's and they both are running the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S. These tires have performed real well on and off road. http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/geolandar_ats.aspx The wear has been real good for both. My buddy has about 76k on his and my dad has about 80k. Great wear and both have said that they will be going back to the same set. They each went up a size to the LT265/75R16 with no problem and no rubbing issues. As a note my buddy recently added a Cognito 1.5" lift in order to run the Toyo M55 series tire when he goes to Idaho to hunt. This is a narrow tall tire which he said did exceptionally well in the snow and muddy roads in the back country of Idaho. He only puts these on when he heads out west and uses the Geo's the rest of the time. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/m-55 Just another thought and options. Both my buddy and my dad got all four tires and the spare of the same size for between $800-$850 from Big O tire, one in NE and the other in NM. Good Luck :bowtie: |
