Suburban speaker suggestions

Im gonna put a new stereo setup in my 88 Suburban. I dont want to go overboard, but i do wanna rock! :metal: It looks like it has outer and center dash speakers, and 2 4x10s in the back. Is there a good way to add a few more speakers or can i get good enough speakers to rock in the stock locations?

Ive been doing some looking around. I was thinking what about 4x10 to 6x9 adapters for the back, and 1" spacers for the front and use 6-1/2 componant speakers in the stock kick panels. That way i can get decent speakers and add an amp. What do you guys think?

I'm never sure who gets snow and who just rusts lol
but the rear speakers will get fried if the wheel wells leak and spray up to the rear speaker stock location

Can you put some in the rear headliner. If you fabbed up something and mounted them over the 2nd row rear seat or something. The Burbs have a ton of room, got to be something cool you could do. I think like 2 speakers on mine work.

Here is what I did in my 88 Sub....
Alpine mp3 deck/Kenwood Sirus sat.

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/...atcffc/sp4.jpg

Changed out the speakers in the dash to sony 31/2" two ways.
I put Jenson tweeters on the pillers between the doors.

I took out 4x10s and put in Pioneer 250w 4way 6x9. I made the filler panles my self out of cabinet backing board then painted it with Plastic coat high temp black.

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/...atcffc/sp2.jpg

Then I hid a 200w amp in my center console to feed a 8" Bazooka tube. I didnt want a big box in the back of my truck taking up room. I fill the back up alot to go on hunting trips.

The 31/2 and the tweeters are run off the front channel.
The 6x9 are fed off the rear channel.
The Alpine puts out 40wx4.
200w amp just feeds the 8" Bazooka tube.
I put speaker baffles behined the 31/2 and 6x9 (look at Crutchfield.com for them they make the speakers sound a little beter)

Its not the loudest system but it sound cleen and I didnt have to cut my truck up to bad.
You cant here it 3 blocks away but after 1/2hr of cranking Pantera it will make your ears ring!

So far i ordered up

Infinity Reference 9633i 6x9"
Rockford Fosgate Prime R300-4 amp
Pioneer DEH-P5200HD Stereo
1" 6 1/2 " spacers for the front speakers
4x10 to 6x9 adapters for the 6x9s

I should get it all this week. Maybe ill get it all in this weekend. Ill let you guys know how it works out.

Hey thats looks good. I thought about the front dash speakers. But went with the 6-1/2 for the kick panels. I can always add some dash speakers later. Im gonna use the amp to run the front and rear chanels. So i have openings with the stereo amp. I thought maybe in the future 4 3-1/2" in speakers in the dash and run them off the stereo.
