Trucks got no kick down?

My truck has always had this issue and i just never thoguht about it (as it drives an shifts fine etc.)

But from a dead stop if you jump on it it has no get up and go and if your driving along and just step on it it will not kick down into passing gear.

Trucks a 84 C35 with a 350 a T400 and a D70 rear end.

Any help to get some life back in this boy would be great!

i had this problem besause my downshift cable on my th350 was jammed inside the transmission. instead of opening it up to fix i just swapped in a TH700r4.

another reason i switched transmissions is because i blew up the th350 in the driveway atttemting a neutral drop hahaha

Its elctronic. Look on your gas pedal and you cans see the switch, follow the wires make sur they are hooked up. Then under the hood there should be an orange wire with a fusable link in the wire, That fusable link could be blown. Then check down to the transmission ans make sure its hooked up.

Im in the process of straightening out some wires and I already found that.
There is ALOT of knowledge on this site, someone else will chime in as well

No switch on the pedel and the fuseable link seems to be all hacked. FML i need to find a god donar truck as trying to find wireing in a junk yard is useless (ppl just cut stuff.)

You can just buy another fusable link, I think its a 25, thats what was printed on mine. I just bought and inlive fuse holder and put a 25 fuse in it. I have not hooked it up yet. I have my interior striped out. Found the rust I thought was not there. Just on the floor panels by the kick panels. At any rate, gonna fix them before I go much farther.
