Dropping my 77 chev

I would like to drop my 77 chevy 4 inches. It is at stick height now. What things must I change? Also what size tires can I use? I want a nice profile tire. Any suggestions?

To drop it 4" you can get 3" spindles and 1" springs for the front and a shackle/hanger kit for the rear. That will be a 4" drop at all 4 corners. You could go 4/5 but instead of a shackle/hanger kit for the rear you have to get a flip kit. If you flip the rear you will have to notch the frame with the stuff in the kit, if you go the shackle/hanger route you have to notch the bed supports a little. As far as tire size, anything will fit with that amout of drop, our trucks have PLENTY of room in the wheel wells.

I agree with bigblock73. I have some more information on my web site. Go here http://www.geocities.com/abetterchem...it/dropkit.htm

Post any questions. Most of us here have lowered trucks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

You could also use drop leaf springs, they have a varity of drop avalable.
I ran some 245/60/15 in the front, and 275/60/15 in the rear on 8" rallye wheels with a 5/7 for quite a while. Just enuff tire to make it look damn good with no fitment problems..
