Pics of Ram Air II Hood???
Does anyone have a picture of a '67-'72 truck with a Ram Air II Hood on it??? THanks
I have one of the hoods but it isn't painted or on the truck yet. I should have it on in a couple of weeks. I will post a pic then.
Ram Air? Who makes the ram air hoods? Does it look like the T/A's shaker, or what?

It looks like this from US Bodies.
Interesting....I'll have to see it on a truck for an opinion.
It is different. You thought about making it functional? |
I think I like it, should look really good on a truck.
Too ricey for me, sorry
No I'm not going to make it functional. But I am going to black in the inlets.
I don't see where you get ricey since this is an american style hood. |
yeah I agree, That looks like american muscle, Not rice at all to me.
Hmm, a little too "organic" for me. The contours don't seem to match the squarish shape and lines of our trucks very well, especially the 70-72. Maybe the 67-68 would look a little better?
Just my first impression, I may see it on and finished and love it. I'm very interested to see the results! |
72ChevyCheyenne got anymore progress pics?
I like it and the only thing that would make it ricey is if you don't make it functional. I mean come on, if you're going to go through the trouble of buying it, painting it, and installing it, well make it functional for cryin out loud! That's cold air intake at it's finest! :burnout:
I agree 110% with 72 step. Putting a non-functional hood scoop on a truck is like a ricer putting a big ol three level spoiler on a front wheel drive car................what's the point? :barf:
It does look mean, but to me it looks like they mated our hood with the snorkel of a 99 trans am.
I love these on TA's but it's hard to picture it on our trucks. I don't think it would look right on a stock color combo but might look really cool on something custom. Who knows.......
Meathead95, nothing new to post this week. The paint should be done by this weekend. Then I will have something to post.
cool
I do think the contuers are wrong looking. But I love the Ram Air Idea. Having a Ram Air hood and it not being functional is sort of silly.
But about ricer? No it looks like the Camaro Ram air design almost. And about Rear wing on a front drive car. Um where the drive wheels are is not important. A functional rear wing puts downforce on the rear of the car at higher speeds giving it both traction for acceleration and or stability in corners. Taking away the light floating feel at higher speeds. :burnout: |
i think the camaro ss style would look more fitting compared to the t/a ram air set up. looks good though
Does anyone have a link to a website on the hoods? are they steel or glass? I like it.
Geeezzz 72ChevyCheyenne...for all the sucking coming from that ZZ502 you better open up that ramair hood....
Make it functional!!!!!! |
OK guys, you talked me into it. I am going to make the hood functional. I will post pics as soon as it is painted and on the truck.
I got my hood through Mothertruckers and it was less than $700.00. |
