Cleaning/protecting billet pulleys and brackets

What's the best way to clean and protect this stuff? I have a brand new Billet Specialties Tru Trac setup and I noticed that when I was mocking it up on the motor that when I would screw the bolts in with my fingers that my skin skuffs the billet. I thought about having it powder coated in a clear but the tolerances on this stuff is so tight that I'm a little leary of powder or clear coat. That may be the way to go but I'm just wondering if there is another way.

You can get buffing kits at Homer depot and separate wheels. We (the wife) just polished our Sanden A/C compressor from raw to shiny:metal:
Mainly used 3M buffing compound ,the same stuff as for paint.

what you're looking for is zoopseal (or one of its imitators).

if you google the stuff, you'll find out more then i can ever type on it. It works great.

I bought Mothers billet polish for mine. My project is going on 12 years and I have billet brackets and pullies from Street and Performance. I was looking to bring the bling back. I was going to use this with a power ball but I have not had good luck with the power ball so I did it by hand. I was impressed with how well it turned.

Welcome to the land of aluminum and all of the great things that happens when you touch it.

I use a set of 3" small razor buffs on a die grinder and using the stick polishing compounds to get aluminum to a shiney condition. Once there, I use Mothers aluminum polish to get any dirt or larger scratches out of the metal to start and then follow up with the Mothers "Billet" polish to give a mirror finish. I then seal my aluminum with a metal sealant that impedes corrosion and dirt getting into the pores of the metal. There are numerous brands out there, but I use one from a company called "Wizards". I have been running billet aluminum pulleys, water tanks, and an aluminum radiator for years, not to mention Billet specialties wheels on my trucks for quite some time.
