rear air bag susp. travel

Will 3 inches to my bumpstop be fine for a daily driver ? Sleeve type bags, looking for a smooth ride.

Yep. 3" should cover most road surfaces w/o issue. Bigger dips on the highway @ speed could possibly unload/load the suspension a little more aggressively (possibly).

Should I count on my shocks limiting my suspension unloading or have some sort of strap? Don't want these sleeve bags to expand fully!

Straps would be better. I'm not sure about all shocks, but I've seen @ least 1 brand of shock blow the seals from being used as a travel limiter w/bags.
