i might have found a 6.0
i might be picking up a 2001 gmc sierra 4x4 that has the front end smashed,if i get it for a good price is it worth it?or is there a better year to get?if i get it what do i realy need to keep if i use it fuel injected?i might go carburated, but ill have time to figure that out

Re: i might have found a 6.0
Leave the intake and fuel injection on it just like it is, that is a good year to get as there is no fly by wire, just need stand alone electronics (several suppliers) and you are good to go. Use the trans. to!, might as well use the 14bolt and disk brakes while you are at it, can be switched to 6 lug if you like.
Do a search on here and all over the internet, this is all the rave right now, TONS of talk out there! |
Re: i might have found a 6.0
its going in my 2wd,so either i get an other trans or use my 700r4

Re: i might have found a 6.0
Id use your 700, hopefully it is a little built to handle the HP the 6.0 will muster. Right out of the box with a performance tune and headers it should run 400HP easily. If you do a cam and such, &450-500 is not unrealistic at all.

Re: i might have found a 6.0
Why cant you use the 4L80E in your truck?

Re: i might have found a 6.0
just my .02, I would throw the 6.0 in there with the 700, take it easy for a while and when your ready to upgrade the cam and such, go ahead and upgrade the trans too.
