Shortened Air Shocks
I am looking for air shocks that will work for the rear of my 66 GMC Suburban. I want air shocks to help when towing. Buy I am going to lower it 5" so I am worried that a stock air shock will be too long.
Does anyone know an application or part number of what I am looking for? THANKS!! |
Re: Shortened Air Shocks
Could move the shock mounts up to make up some difference. I dont think they make them for lowered rides though.

Re: Shortened Air Shocks
Are burbs on spring or coils, the coils would be easy to lower and just go to a true air ride to lower it. Kieth

Re: Shortened Air Shocks
If it has coils why not use Air Lift overload bags inside the coils? I researched this for my '65 pickup.
This thread discusses bags and air shocks: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&highlight=air Hope this helps. |
Re: Shortened Air Shocks

How about some load levelers? http://stengelbros.com/AirLiftAirAux.Springs.htm
Or if you are up for a little research, go to this site: http://www.monroe.com/catalog/docume...engthSheet.pdf Page down to the air shock section and see if they have an air shock length that matches what you are looking for. |
Re: Shortened Air Shocks
I checked the monroe site. They dont offer what I am looking for. I guess, worst case, I can just move the shock mount.
