Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
wow, must be nice to have such a great starting point! how did you end up liking the undercoating? i tried that once on a previous truck and it never seem to dry and every time i worked on it, it made a big mess. everything looks great!

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Thanks'' Yeah I don't like it so much but that is why I just kept it to the frame and sand blasted everything else and painted.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Beautiful work. I don't have the ambition to go that deep right now, but it is good to see it being done so well.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Nice work! Looks like you did the ultimate tbi mods. Was it hard?
|
Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Nope it was not hard just went with a performance chip, Intake, Headers, and shift kit. Really not looking to make it fast or nothing but to get the best MPG I can with a LITTLE pep.
|
Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Got the new modern metal piston and shift kit in.

Re: 1987 Chevy Long Bed
Ok all you 1987 chevy truck experts that has converted a 305tbi to 350tbi with a edelbrock performer intake and headers other than that its all stock with a new prom chip from jet. Ok all was going well till it came time to hook up the trans vac line and fuel lines witch are the stock ones from the 305 (and yes it has dual fuel tanks) They will not hook up, it is like the lines need to be routed on the intake different , so if you have an answer for this please let me know. Is it just me? I need to know just about all modifications needed to complete it. I have worked on these old trucks my entire life but this is my first build so I lack some education. Pic's of curent progress below.
