That gorilla looks cool too!
|
i used to have a steering wheel like that and i hated it, got really tired of having a bruise on my knee from climbing in to the truck
|
Andy my man, looking good!! :D
|
Hey Andy, great minds think alike. This is in my 68 Chevy. I really like the "feel of the wheel"

Okay guys, how come I'm the only one to ask............If that the interior shot..........who has ever installed a battery box in the interior..............shoudn't that be the interior under the hood.................
And that back bumper is great..........but question maybe thats been put in as a push bar...........breakdowns? Just kidding.............. |
Is that a shrunken head hanging from the rear view mirror?
|
It's the last guy that made fun of his truck!
|
Andy . Looks good love that rear bumper, and thanks to you I put in the same wheel and really like it.
:bowtie: |

Looking good Andy, I have a rear bumper almost as heavy as yours (excellent for somebody tailgating ;) ) |
Blue Beard- I noticed that too.
I was wondering about the heater core being on the pasenger side floor board. Was that an option on the one-tons, Andy? |
LOL @ most of y'all.
That is a shrunken head (not a gorrila) on the rear view mirror. Don't ask me why, but I like that kind of stuff. As for the bumper, that is the one that the dealer installed on the GMC (so I am told anyways...from the 6th or 7th owner, but he was a Dope Smokin Old Man and I don't belive most of what he told me.) That thing is heavy as heck, hence the jack stands, and I hate it. I think it's fugly, but since all te trim is gonna be white, I figured I'd use this one and put my chrome factory bumper in the basement untill I can locate decent front bumper and grill. And no, it is not a push bar. ;) Under neath the white paint, you can just almost make out the dealer name and the city...but you CAN read the word Kansas....which is where it came from. As for the steering wheel, I had one in my old Longhorn and this one in the GMC for a bit, and I liek them quite a bit. My question here is for krazy_texan...how did you bruise your leg on a padded wheel? The shop is the one I am an under apreciated slave for 8 - 12 hrs a day. Luckily though, my boss is pretty cool...esp when you consider what an ass hole he is. He is letting me store it there, and if there is more than one bay open in the evening...I am more than welcome to use one of them. He has also (quite a few times) offered to help with $$ to get it together quicker...but I can't do that. Like I said...he's pretty cool. As for the AUX battery tray and the heater box...I ain't gotten to installing them yet. Tehy seem kinda trivial at the moment. ;) Thanks for all the kind words. |
Looking good Andy!! I know what you mean about collecting funny stuff. I have an old carving of a bull made out a wood. It says polynesia on the bottom, and I got from a buddy in his garage sale. I have it over my work bench cause the wifey would let me put it any where near the inside of the house. It's got some sweet horns on it though!!
|
where do you get the white face gauges?
|
sweet bumper, thats what the back of a real truck should look like :D i'll trade ya my smaller 73-87 step bumper ;)
|
I knew you'd like that bumper bloo...I think its the bends, twists, holes, and rips in it that make you drool so much. ;)
As for the guages...I painted the speedo and fuel guage, and installed sun pro guages in the bottom. Before sun pro is passed off as cheap wall mart crap (which Wally World isn't good enough to carry these anyways) did you know that Snap On makes the sun pro items? |

Here is a before and after....
or is it after and before? http://64.246.42.114/vboard/attachme...&postid=324584 |
Good work there Andy, I like the a/mkt gauges where you got em'
|
I like it more before all the work. . . . . . . ;)
|
Andy, you are doing some nice work there. I really like that you changed the front clip to the GMC, looks like it was meant that way. I really like 3/4 and 1 ton longhorns, wish I had one my self. As someone that ripped apart the interior and redid it this winter, I understand the work that goes into it.
You have done a good job with that beauty. Keep up the good work. |
I think it looks like poo. . . . . .
j/k. . . ;) |
