Harwood hood installed Pics

Well finally got the Harwood hood painted and installed. Hood is a 3" and fit was alot better fit and less work to get painted than 2 different previous fiberglass hoods I've had. Underside is finished as well.

That looks good.

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Harwood stuff is awesome, and yours looks GREAT! I had one on my '92 C1500 xcab and the fit and finish of their products is top notch.

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
That looks good man . They built the original mold of that hood from one of my high school buddies , dads truck . They test fitted it on mine and actually gave me one . Mine fit on all four corners but had a really big gap along the fenders so I traded it to a guy to fix my old hood . Anyhow it looks real good on your truck .

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Any idea on weight savings for this piece vs a stock steel hood?

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Hood looks great, I just wish they sold a 4"+ version. Did you have to work it over much prior to paint?

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
So sad for me they only make it for the 69 up.

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Does it fit as nice as it appears to in the pics?

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Thanks guys . Looking forward to Car show in Galveston in a couple of weeks and then back to the track to see how it runs since I made a few changes to motor and had freshened up. Also went from a NOS pro fogger to a new 2 stage Pro flow nitrous system and new Dana60 with more gear since last trip to the track.Hope to go some low 9's this year.
Bosshog: Hood weighs 40# compared to the 68# Goodmark 2" cowl. Talked to Harwood and they said they will put Truck on their Website when I send them a picture Turp: Hood fits real good along fenders and cowl. Front to grill looks ok but fit is more due to grill fitting issue to passenger side aftermarket fender. |

Well took Truck to the first car show in about 5 years and got 2nd in Modified class. Now just a couple of finishing details to take to track and see how it runs.
Need opinions on how truck sits now. I think it has to much of a rake and front needs to come up some. Will be ordering new front springs and not sure if I should raise front or not. Whats your opinions? |
Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
My opinion is that your truck is bada$$!
If it were me, I would lower the back a touch before I raised the front, but depending on your rear suspension setup, that might be out of the question. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
I like it just the way it sits......

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Leave it like it is and kick ass on the track and at the shows.

Re: Harwood hood installed Pics
Drop the rear 1 in. I love when those fat tires are tucked. I have a rake about the same as yours. Ill be dropping the rear and i cant roll a tennis ball under the front.

Kris 15 x 5 w/28 x 4.5 and 15 x 14 w/31 x 14 .
Rear is about as low as I can go and this is with a c notch. So I am looking at raising the front some to take some of the rake out. Current front springs are a 1" drop and are 12" long. I have'nt found a spring less than 16" for racing so it will raise the front.Hopefully not to much that I have to raise the rear to level back off. |
