89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

Hola!

A little background:

long time square body owner, I have had three ludicrously low Suburbans, all 90-91 and was looking for another when I found this beauty on Craigslist DFW one night this summer. I emailed the guy and made arrangementts to check the truck out...@ 1am in a parking lot in Springtown, TX! Turn's out he was a forum member! I placed a deposit and picked it up equally as late the following night and cruised her 30 miles home.

I purchased her with Centerline 20's and exactly as listed in the ad, over the next few months I drove her here and there when I had time after work and did some little maint. stuff. Come December I ordered a set of 24" Intro Flagstaff wheels(24x9 front and 24x12 rear) and dropped her off at my good friend and off season employer Nfamus Air Suspension. We would most certainly be alot further along than we are however due to multiple snafu's with getting the wheels we are still underway on the build. I have some parts scheduled to deliver this week and we should be going at her hard and heavy again.

The build is rather simple versus some of the ideas I originally had. We have performed a stock floor body drop and the suspension will comprise of Air Lift Dominators at the corners, GC valves, Viair compressors and and Nfamus made notch and 4 link with Bag on Bar. All the suspension will be simple and functional and under the bed floor which is not typical for Nfamus builds but was what I wanted.

According to the title the truck was originally a 3/4 ton flat bed but of course is now 1/2 ton short bed. Work truck interior would have been original however the original owner swapped to Suburban front clip and doors which will stay. I acquired a used up burban for some additional interior trim parts and am looking for a final couple of parts to complete a Silverado level trimmed interior. Of course some seat changes will be made for comfort and everything will be covered or dyed to match. In the next post I will attach some photos of it as I got it and progress thus far. If you have any questions feel free to ask and you can add me of Facebook or Like Nfamus Air Suspension to see updates as well. Thanks for reading the novel!

AHHH! Also, the project is called Cold Hearted Woman, not only a great song by Cross Canadian Ragweed but also much like a Cold Hearted Woamn a project like this is likely to leave a man penniless, miserable and out in the rain and cold.

Preliminary Artwork performed by Bob Thrash. Colors are a Burgundy Metallic upper and Champagne Lower however a guy in LA is doing a 72 Burban in these colors but flipped so something different will probably occur... Anyway This is the overall idea, clean and classy with simple body mods. I will however keep the ribbed roof as I kinda dig it.

Impala SS rearend w/disc brakes has been swapped in and has been narrowed 7.5 inches to work with the 24X12 W/4 inches backspacing. Axles have been sent to Moser to be cut and re-splined over ordering new ones.

That is about it for the time being. I will post more pics as progress allows. I am happy to be apart of this forum although I rarely post, tons of good information and lots of inspirational builds. Keep up the good work fellas, let me know what you think!

LMAO, we love our EATS @ Nfamus! We should be making progress on hanging the link bars and rear bag brackets this week and starting on the front suspension as soon as the front wheels arrive. We have a number of builds going on in the shop right now including another C10 w/full Vette suspension on a full fabricated frame, a full tube chassis 00 Silverado and a 07 Crew Cab we previously bagged on 28;s that was a Street Trucks Feature that will be bodydropped! Thanx for checking out my thread, I hope to post cruising pics within the next coupe of weeks if all goes right!

I am actually in North Fort Worth, NRH to be exact. I no longer have the smoothies, I sold them to a friend in Weatherford who was turning his bagged and bodied Crew Cab dually into a crew cab shortbed single wheel.. His is an 88-98 truck though.

Hey Taylor! I have not forgot about you man I am still looking to get those uppers from you but we have had some issues getting the correct front wheels and are still waiting for them to arrive. Once they are in I will let you know what we need on the front so we can get that order placed!

Also the rear end is from 94-96. You can also find this rear end in some of the 9c1 police optioned caprices and some of the caprice and roadmaster wagons.

Yesterday was a lucky day! My truck was a work truck and did not come with any interior trim or headliner and I have been trying to piece it all together from suburban parts... well while looking for a tailight housing for a buddies 66 short wide I stumble across a 3+3 camper special in the yard with full interior and score everything I need to complete mine for 50 bones! Great find!
