Who does Seat belt Restoration?
 

Hey all,
First off, sorry for all the threads recently, but, I need some help. I remember someone on here mentioning a board member restores original lap belts, anyone know who it is?

I didnt know that a board member did them I was about to send mine out to, snake oyl products.

It begins with "Snake" something........

Never used them, but as I remember they do GREAT work, but VERY expensive.

Call CheyenneSuperMan (Gary ___?) here on the board, his prices are close to or better than snake oyl and he's really, really good at it from what I've seen.

Has anyone had snakeoyl do a set? How much? I have a guy local who restores them. Need to find his info and I'll post it if anyone's interested. He has some NOS webbing at last check. Otherwise it's three rows vs 5 like they were in the webbing. His stuff looks brand new when finished.

im interested in his info. i am soon goona need some belts for my 67 since NOS belts are so hard to find.

Hinshaws Chevelle Parts can restore them for you ,he is in Elon College ,North Carolina and a good friend.

Snake Oyl is expensive, but there is a lot of liability in seat belts. This is not a place to cut corners.

Hinshaw rewebs them with new webbing so I dont think it would be cutting corners but Ive read good things about Snake Oyl too.

Sorry-not trying to say they were bad-or good. I don't know anything about them firsthand. I was just trying to say that seat belts (and brakes) are not a place to cut corners. Cheaper may be fine in most places, but cheap seat belts CAN kill you-or someone you care about- when you need them most. Just buy from a reputable source and you should be OK.

I had a set rewebbed by SnakeOyl, they did a great job. Normally they will ask you to send your belts to them for an estimate. They charged me $80 per retractor.

I called earlier and the local gentleman was unavailable...will try again later but if I remember correctly he charges around 30-40 per belt and no corners are cut. He brings dozens of sets to super chevy every year and I've used some of his in a couple vehicles. Look and function like new with new webbing.

There is a guy who I have bought belts from off of ebay. He also does belt restoration and from what I have seen, his stuff is top notch. I will send my belts to him for sure. His name is Tom of Tom's Trim 303-425-5162. I don'tknow what he charges but you won't be disappointed.
